Is there software that Claude cannot build?

I was still an AI skeptic back in 2025, as you can see from my previous post back in December. The pace of improvement has gotten exponentially better since then, at least from my experience and recollection. I expected LLMs to improve the state of the art of AI-assisted coding eventually, but not this quickly. I don't want to say LLMs made me eat my own words, but it seems like they did.

On the plus side, it has enabled me to build out quite a few of my pet projects on the weekend with a few prompts. See my projects.

On the minus side, it raises real uncertainty about job prospects for the next generation. Those already established in tech may be safe, perhaps for a few more years.

If everything and anything can be built or solved by AI without supervision, then what is the meaning of intellectual pursuit for lifelong learning?
